Maria (Laguna) Munoz

Maria Laguna Escudero De Munoz, 96, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2021. Born August 22, 1925 to Augusto and Zenaida (nee Escudero) Laguna in Ancash, Pomabamba, Peru. She lived in Lima where she worked in a textile factory where she met her future husband, Bartolome. They married in 1954 and had four children, three of whom passed away. They lived in Venezuela for five years. Maria came to the United States and on November 7, 2013 she became a citizen. Maria was a mother and a wife who was courageous, hardworking, always having projects in mind, very active, good sense of humor, very protective and helpful to others.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bartolome; two sons, Hector Portella and Rodolfo Portella; one daughter, Maria Teresa Munoz; her parents; and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Bertha Munoz, nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.

Funeral Ceremony Monday at 6:00 pm. Followed by Visitation from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Avenue, Clifton, NJ.
