Lillian M. (Sebastian) Szanto

Lillian M. (nee Sebastian) Szanto, 98, of Lodi died Friday, July 28, 2023.

Born in Garfield, New Jersey, Ms. Szanto resided there before moving to Lodi 49 years ago. She retired from Playtex Co. of Paramus in 1990. Previously, she was employed at JP Stevens Co. of Garfield.

Ms. Szanto was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Lodi. She was a ardent supporter of the NY Giants and the NJ Devils, loved gameshows and Frank Sinatra and was an avid book reader, especially books by author James Patterson. She was also active bowler, participating in leagues at Parkway Lanes. Her beloved Pomeranian, Joey, is now in the great care of Kevin and Patty.

Ms. Szanto was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Margaret (nee Kovach) Sebastian, her sister, Margaret Kuszko; her daughter, Linda Sue Szanto and her grandson, David Matthew Sweerus.

Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia M. Szanto and her husband, Kevin Sachs of Wanaque, NJ and Karen L. Gulino and her husband, Joseph of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Jonathan Sweerus of Clifton, Dawn McCrystal (Patrick) and Sharon Sweerus, both of Massachusetts; her four great grandchildren, Philip, Brianna, Kerry, Julia and her niece, Lori Marszat and her nephew, Dr. Roger J. Szanto.

Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 & 6-9 at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton. Funeral 9:45 am Tuesday from the funeral home and 10:30 am at St. Joseph RC Church, 40 Spring St., Lodi. Interment to follow at Lodi Cemetery, Lodi.
