GEORGE FETT, 90, of CLIFTON died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood.
Born in Gant, Hungary, Mr. Fett came to the United States in 1951 settling in Passaic before moving to Clifton. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War Era. Afterwards he had a long career as a tool and die maker retiring from United Tool & Stamping Co. of West Paterson in 1995 after 20 years of service.
Mr. Fett was a parishioner of St. Stephen’s RC Church, Passaic volunteering in different capacities for many years. George loved to bowl and most recently was a member of Baker’s Bowlers Club of Elmwood Park where he bowled until May of 2022. He served as a beloved Scoutmaster of Troop 31 in Passaic for many years. George was an avid soccer fan especially in the heyday of the NY Cosmos professional soccer team and was a 43 year Member of Sportfriends Soccer Club of Wayne NJ where he was honored with their Lifetime Membership award. He will always be remembered for his love of dancing, his kind and helping nature and his welcoming smile.
He was predeceased by his sister, Maria Eller and his brother, John Fett.
Survivors include: his wife of 67 years, the former Hedwig Gieger; his two sons, Joseph Fett and his wife, Naomi of Oak Ridge, NJ and James Fett and his wife, Susan of Clifton, NJ; his sister, Barbara Zborovsky of Florida; his brother, William Fett and his wife, Margaret of Butler, NJ; He was a loving Opa to his six grandchildren, Caitlin, Thomas, Nicholas, Julianna, Katrina, Jakob and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation from Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton. Funeral will be 9:45 am Tuesday from the funeral home and 10:30 am at St. Stephen’s RC Church, 223 Third St., Passaic. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
